I’ve been a Webflow user for over three years now, and they just keep getting better. Honestly, it’s exciting to see how Webflow is becoming one of the top tools in the industry, empowering developers, designers, and marketers to collaborate with ease.
This year’s conference didn’t disappoint and was packed with exciting new features and updates. Let’s dive into some of the most exciting highlights from the 2024 Webflow Conf!
Now, let’s dive deeper into everything announced at this year’s Webflow Conf!
This is a big win for collaboration, especially for non-technical users. As a designer, I love that I can now build styled components my clients can use without needing me every five minutes. I’m pumped to see how fast this feature will make building pages for non-tech-savvy clients.
Webflow recently released bulk editing for variables, and now they’re taking it further with component style variables. This lets us create multiple versions of a component without having to duplicate it – talk about a game-changer!
This is perfect for layouts like product grids or blogs. For example, if I’m building a website for apartment rentals, I can easily switch between a grid and list view with just one component. No more doubling up on components!
A few months ago, Webflow rolled out Design Approvals for Enterprise users, and now they’ve expanded it with some new features:
I don’t personally use the Enterprise plan, but I can see how agencies or large in-house teams will love these updates. When multiple people are involved, anything that smooths out the QA process is a win.
Who else’s inbox is drowning in spam submissions? Not anymore! Webflow just introduced a new bot prevention feature that works behind the scenes to block unqualified form submissions.
They also gave the form settings inside the Designer a makeover, now showing connected apps directly on the form page. Plus, if you build Webflow Apps, you’ll appreciate the expanded form API.
This is a feature I haven’t used yet, but it’s super helpful for global teams. Webflow raised the limit from 5 locales to 10, making it even easier to manage content in multiple languages.
The CMS API now supports bulk edits, making life easier for those managing large content libraries.
Say goodbye to the “draft dance!” Now you can publish CMS items independently, without touching the entire site. This makes it so much easier to release updates incrementally.
This one’s got me really excited! Webflow hinted at improvements to nested CMS fields, which has been a long-standing limitation. Right now, you can only have one nested field, which is a pain if you’re trying to build complex sites.
Webflow’s built-in analytics tool, Analyze, now integrates with the Designer and Editor. This will be a lifesaver for non-technical users who get overwhelmed by tools like Google Analytics.
The downside? It’s another add-on, starting at $29/month (billed annually) for 10k sessions. I was really hoping they’d offer a basic free tier, like Squarespace or Shopify, but no luck. For now, I’ll stick with Google Analytics.
This is Webflow’s new A/B testing and personalization platform, designed to help users fine-tune their websites for better performance.
Key features include:
I’m stoked to see how this tool evolves! Being able to customize user experiences directly in Webflow feels like a game-changer.
This AI feature helps generate new page sections based on your site’s design system. It gives you a preview to customize before adding the section to your site.
This feature looks like it will be free for right now as they are testing & building, but they plan on making this another add-on or paid feature down the road.
Webflow’s AI can now generate CMS content by analyzing your past entries, aiming to match your brand’s tone on the first try. No more copy-pasting from third-party tools – it’s all baked right in.
GSAP is an industry standard JavaScript Animation Library. Webflow acquired GreenSock, the company behind GSAP, so i'm looking forward to this seamless integration.
I've never used GSAP before for animations, but I'm excited to dive into this more.
The template marketplace got a makeover with new insights to help creators understand demand and trends. Plus, Webflow now allows you to sell templates outside of the Webflow Marketplace, which is a huge win for freelancers and agencies.
Webflow has revamped its Partner Program with a new centralized hub for benefits, resources, and badges, all accessible from the Webflow dashboard. It looks like they’re making it easier than ever to grow as a partner.
Thank goodness this feature is back! When Webflow removed it, things got a bit tricky. Having a built-in client billing platform makes working with small businesses way smoother.
This update is a huge relief. Now, transferred sites keep their existing site plans, saving us from the old headaches of rebuilding CMS collections and re-adding plans post-transfer.
You can now add project fees on top of a client’s invoice to cover hosting and other expenses. It’s a nice touch that will simplify billing.
Overall, I think Webflow is heading in the right direction. The conference showcased some exciting updates that will benefit designers, developers, and marketers alike. I can’t wait to get my hands on these new features and see how they shape the way I build sites in the future.
